Senior Systems Engineer
Direct/Contract

This position is involved in routine support issues, troubleshooting, debugging and fixing issues with applications and systems. Additionally, this position will be involved in the setup of new clients on a specialized job-tracking solution. This will involve up to 25% travel and client interaction. A good balance of knowledge of networks and software applications is desired. A candidate for this position will have a minimum of five years’ work experience in the required skills areas.

Position Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

• Experience in current technology environments supporting web-based applications, LAN/WAN/VPN network environment, Microsoft Office products including Exchange and multiple application/data/file/FTP/mail servers supporting multiple internal and external clients; must know how to setup and troubleshoot VPNs and other network configurations.
• Basic web development skills and understanding how to configure support for web applications required.
• Database management experience including deployment, backup, restores, optimization, etc., required.
• Ability to interact with business users and other IT professionals.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft products and common tools utilized in current client/web server environments; Tomcat and Websphere administration experience; multiple programming languages experience a plus.
• Understanding and experience in hardware and network setup and monitoring in the environments described below.
• Proven ability to document and maintain stringent controls over the IT environment.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening skills, as well as team-building and presentation skills.
• An employment history as a successful a senior technician/engineer in a web-based application environment utilizing multiple tools and languages.
• Experience with pre-press or ad development workflows desired.
• Ability to travel by commercially reasonable means.
• Current on U.S. industry trends, events and news.
